The Outreach Program supports several special projects offered by the Hill Country Community Ministries, i.e., Easter Baskets, School Supplies and Thanksgiving Food Drive, as well as Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Pet Pals and the Austin Police Department's Kid Clothes Closet. Outreach is your opportunity to help relieve some of the stress and suffering of those who are in need. Compass Team: Career Networking Group
1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 7:00-9:00 PM - Friendship Hall

The Compass Team has undergone a transformation! Facilitated by Jay Markunas, Career coach and Founder of GreatOccupation.com, the group is open to job seekers, hiring managers, and career professionals. Whether you're looking for a job, have a job that you need filled, want to start your own business, or need someone to give you feedback on your resume for a big interview, this is an excellent opportunity to network. Inreach

Time commitment: Dependent on need

The Inreach Team reaches out to church members in times of crises, providing a "helping hand" to lighten their burden. Some service opportunities include preparing and delivering meals, running errands, providing transportation, making home and hospital visits, caring for children or elders, sending comforting cards or helping with housework, lawns, pets, or even moving. Lots of volunteer team members make the load light for all!!!

International Outreach

LoveLight Volunteer Manual

The International Outreach Team mission is to awaken Hope in hearts around the world through love in action. We do this by cultivating the resources, creative ideas, and collective heart of UCOH and allowing this energy to feed the hands, mouths, resourcefulness, and intelligence of people all over the world. We are constantly creating projects to link to the UCOH congregation such as: Lovelight ministry for AIDS orphans in South Africa and other African-based projects with poverty-stricken populations in Ghana and Mali; our Shoes4Unity drive to collect shoes and contributions for the 300 million without shoes in the world, and many more opportunities to bring our Light to others in the world.

Prayer Shawls
Team Leader: Kristen Shepherd

Knitters and Crocheters needed! Join together to knit and crochet Prayer Shawls for individuals facing challenges, needing comfort or healing, or celebrating special events in their lives...all the while infusing your shawls with prayers, energy, love and light. The shawls provide healing and comfort to the sick, the elderly, as well as celebrating in the accomplishment of the graduate, newlywed and newborn. Simple knitting and crocheting skills and a prayerful heart are the only requirements. Donations of yarn, needles and hooks, or beads and charms are always welcomed and appreciated. Meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 6:00-7:00 PM.

Toastmasters
Every second, fourth and fifth Thursdays, 7:30 PM

Are you afraid of speaking in public? Do your knees knock when you stand up before a crowd? Do you want to learn to overcome this fear? Toastmasters is a worldwide nonprofit organization that has been helping people learn better communication and leadership skills for over 80 years.
