New Beginnings

By Rev. Cynthia Vermillion-Foster

When I began my time with you, we talked about crossing the threshold to a new future. My time with you was in the liminal space between what had been and what was emerging. You are now preparing to step into that new future with Rev. David. Congratulations!

You have done some amazing work in these past few years, and it has been an honor to walk with you during this time. Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

This is a time of new beginnings. This sounds straightforward, but on closer exploration, we find that a new beginning is not as simple as starting something new. Life in this dimension is an ongoing dance of dissolving and becoming. Each beginning includes endings. And each ending precipitates new beginnings.

My invitation is that you engage this current time with humility, openness and awareness. Doing so will put you in the best possible place to step into a new future together with Rev. David.

As we are moving through the next few months and preparing for Rev. David’s arrival, I invite you to embrace this new beginning in light of the following three themes: Rejoice, Release, Renew:

·         What about UCoH brings joy and celebration to your heart? What are the gifts of this community? How has it touched you? How is it touching the world?

·         What is it time to let go of – either personally or communality? What regrets do we have? What are the emotions that you are feeling in relationship to this next transition?

·         What do we want to bring forward into our new future with Rev. David? What do we envision creating together?

I hold you in my heart and see Spirit alive in this community at this time.

Namaste:

Rev. Cynthia
