The UCOH Volunteer Ministry is pleased to announce that Craig DeVescovi is the Volunteer Of The Month for January 2022. Below, Craig shares brief written and video testimonials of his experience as a member and volunteer in the UCOH community since he joined in 2019.

Craig DeVescovi: I have been attending Unity churches for around 13 years and have been a member of UCOH for two and half years. Before that, in 2008, I attended the Unity church in Hollywood, FL and then in Long Beach, CA where I was a board member and resident chef from 2017-2019. When we moved to TX, I attended the Unity Church in North Austin on Dessau Road before landing at UCOH.

I currently serve with the Hospitality team. I have 50 years as a Master Chef and so naturally, I gravitated to the kitchen. My father was an International Master Chef from Trieste, Italy and I began my tutelage with him, washing dishes, at the age of 11. I help out however I can. Most Sundays that’s where you can find me, whether I’m scheduled to be there or not. I also help out with special events that have hospitality and I roast the Turkey for Thanksgiving luncheon.

I started here as a Greeter. The first Sunday I came here, I approached Vidette, who was the Volunteer Coordinator at the time, and offered to help – that led to hospitality.

It’s an honor to serve UCOH because of the warmth and kindness of the people– it’s an honor to be a part of this community.

I have always believed that you should give the thing that brings you joy. Whatever your passion is, that’s where you start.

The UCOH Family is wonderful.  May God Jehovah and Lord Jesus Christ Bless us all!! Sending love and light to all, and wishing all a Happy New Year!

Congratulations, Craig. You and your magnificent cooking skills are a welcome addition to our spiritual family. We are blessed by the gifts and talents you so generously share in helping Unity Church of the Hills transform lives.
