Spiritual Education and Enrichment in the Field (SEE) Week

Date: Monday through Friday, July 14-18, 2014

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Cost: $60.00 per class

SEE Credit Fee: $45 per class through Unity Institute

Whether you want to renew your passion for spirituality, discover new ideas that will change your life, explore practical approaches for everyday living, or develop your metaphysical understanding, SEE classes provide practical metaphysical teachings to enhance one’s life. All courses offered this week are required by Unity Institute to complete the Spiritual Development Program. These courses can be taken for credit and are prerequisites to completing Leadership:

Life of Prayer—PR-800 (Required)

10:00 to 11:50 a.m.—Belinda Lightheart, Licensed Unity Teacher

The course introduces the Unity way of affirmative prayer. It will also provide traditional UNITY definitions of prayer and will assist you in creating your own prayer definition; furthermore, you will be supported in your actual prayer discipline. You will be given the opportunity to explore your own prayer life and attitude.

Discover the Power Within You—MS-804 (Required)

This course is a spiritual study of the true teachings of Jesus Christ. It is based on the book by Eric Butterworth, Discover the Power within You. This book presents the thesis that we all can                     discover, accept, and release the power of the divinity Jesus believed dwelt within him and also in each individual. This course is a spiritual study of the true teachings of Jesus Christ. This book and course becomes a tool to develop an action plan and to live our divinity. This course is an inner call from your true being. It is a call for you to express and manifest what you really are.

Jesus and His Teachings—BI802 (Required)

3:00 to 4:50 p.m.—Linda Whiteside, Licensed Unity Teacher

This class explores how Jesus taught, prayed, and healed. Learn the different levels of understanding parables; the distinctions between Jesus, Christ, Jesus Christ and Christ Jesus, and the inner meaning of various foundational ideas such as the Great Commission, the Kingdom of Heaven, and the Holy Spirit. The primary resource is the Bible focusing on the three synoptic gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke and the first part of Acts.

Metaphysics II, Part 1—MS 822 (Required)

5:00 to 6:50 p.m.—Rev. Donna Loflin

During this course you will explore some of the fundamental Principles of Spiritual Law and how they can be applied to your life for greater love, health, and prosperity. It is not necessary to take the 4 Metaphysics classes in order, so feel free to join us, if you are interested. Topics explored in this class are: the four functions of consciousness; thoughts; the Word; denials and affirmations; creation; the twelve powers and developing the twelve powers.  Through the consistent use of these practical principles, you will realize more of your spiritual potential and find that your life is transformed!

Background of New Thought and Unity—HI604 (Required)

7:00 to 8:50 p.m.—Mark Hicks, Licensed Unity Teacher

Background of New Thought explores the origin and development of the ideas, beliefs, and theories that characterize the New Thought movement, looks at the expression of those ideas, beliefs, and theories in the various New Thought religions, and briefly examines the work of some of the more notable New Thought writers and teachers. The course also compares some traditional New Thought beliefs with Christian Science and Unity teachings.
