Dear Friend,

Whether you are new to our community or have been here for some time, thank you for visiting our website and taking a moment to read this letter.

To say “these are interesting times” may sound trite but I’ll say it anyway, even if it’s just to ease my mind a bit – These are interesting times! There are many indicators that confirm such a statement for the year 2012 and beyond. Changing weather patterns, unusual seismic events, the political climate and the economic situation, nationally and globally are a few of the more prominent outward signs. In many of our personal lives, we seem to also be experiencing what some call “a celestial speedup.” Emotions often run higher or lower than usual, there are other things which happen that may seem more “out of sorts” than usual.

While it is not particularly helpful to focus on these changes, it is useful to be mindful that they are there in our exterior world, in part, to encourage us to go within and “be still,” to deepen our inner life, to send the roots of our spiritual understanding more thoroughly into the realm of what doesn’t change. If I had to give the unchangeable a name, it would be Spirit and It’s nature would be Love.

If you stop and think about it, significant world change is not a new phenomenon. Virtually every mystic and master that I can think of lived in “interesting times.” But they modeled for us, the necessity and value of deepening in Spirit. Doing so helped them live their lives in ways that allowed their teachings to spread with power and purpose to the point where we are blessed by them today.

Jesus the Christ is a fine example. There was a lot of chaos as he came into the world and that didn’t really change while he walked in it. But he was dedicated to God, to Love, to deep, eternal understanding. His words conveyed this. And though he has been much misunderstood over these two thousand years, his words are especially powerful today. It is as if some of the seeds of his teachings have been germinating for all this time, ready to yield crops, bear fruit as has not been experienced before.

Our spiritual practices vary. For some, a simple daily reading, for others a more in depth time of prayer and meditation. I encourage you to take the time, regularly, to deepen spiritually. Doing so will help you weather whatever storms these days may hold and emerge stronger, more solid in the awareness of your Essence and by all means, happier, more peaceful, more loving.
Here’s to such deepening in these interesting times!

With Love,

Steve Bolen
