The Unity Church of the Hills uHome Ministry, which serves school-aged homeless children in Central Texas, is sponsoring the “Super Size it” Project*. For several months, the uHome Team has been collecting hotel samples of soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. An awareness of the need for full-sized items emerged as a result of comments from some homeless young women who said, “When they see our little hotel samples (in the locker room), they know we’re homeless.” Understandable. Plus, full-size containers are usable by many of the youth because they live in doubled-up households with many other persons where shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. may be stretched to the max.

Through Sunday, October 19th, we will be collecting full-size containers of the following items:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Bar Soap
  • Hand Lotion
  • Body Lotion

We are also asking for washcloths and large Ziploc bags or containers. The bags and containers will be used to sort the items for distribution to local students. Please bring items to the Church where they can be placed in the large bin in the Foyer. Once again, thank you for your generosity.

* Please only donate regular full-sized containers of the requested items. We want to “super size” the small hotel items.
