Mark Hicks – Life of PrayerMark Hicks

Mark Hicks is the founder of TruthUnity.net, a place for the study, practice and sharing of classic Unity teachings. TruthUnity provides live classes and online audio and video streaming of many great Unity teachers and founders. The site also offers novel ways to study Unity’s classic teaching through hyperlinking and multimedia. Over 500 people come to TruthUnity for 4-5 minutes each day for inspiration, study and online learning.

Teaching a class in prayer is a bit like teaching a class in cooking … the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I will convey the recipe – Unity’s framework for affirmative prayer – but what we eat is the product of our own cooking. I’m excited about the practical nature of this class.

Linda Hurstad teaches “Metaphysics 1”

Linda Hurstad & Polly Leonard

Linda Hurstad has been a Licensed Unity Teacher since 2011 and a member of UCOH since 2007. She retired as a Professor of Music after 33 years of teaching and moved back to Austin where she received her doctorate in Choral Conducting. She is very involved in the Music Ministry at UCOH and conducts the Inspiration choir. She is also an active volunteer at the church.

The study of Metaphysics in Unity is the study of Truth, “those Realities that are True concerning the inner life [spiritual life] of every human being, regardless of time, place and circumstance.” Heart-Centered Metaphysics, p.1. In this class we will explore some of the fundamental Principles of Spiritual Law and how they can be applied to your life for greater love, health and prosperity. Throughout this study, you will be encouraged to further awaken your awareness and understanding of spiritual Truth. You will find that through the consistent use of these practical principles, you will realize more of your Spiritual Potential and find that your life is transformed! Come join Linda and her co-facilitator, Polly Leonard for a joy-filled experience of Unity’s spiritual concepts.

Polly Leonard teaches “Meditation”Linda Hurstad & Polly Leonard

Polly Leonard has been a Licensed Unity Teacher since 2011 and a member of UCoH since 2007 where she has served on several teams including Prayer Chaplains for several years. She enjoys participating in the Music Ministry, especially singing in Inspiration choir.

Come join Polly and co-facilitator Dr. Linda Hurstad in Unity’s “Meditation Practices” class. The various ways of meditating and their benefits will be discussed and experienced. This class is also an opportunity to identify blockages and resistance to a regular meditation practice through insight and journaling in a relaxed atmosphere.

Linda Whiteside, LUTLinda Whiteside teaches “Overview of Christian Scriptures”

Linda Whiteside, LUT, is the Spiritual Leader at Unity Church of Georgetown and leads the 8:00 a.m. Contemplative Service on Sunday mornings at UCOH. She likes teaching the “Overview of Christian Scriptures,” because as Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore says in his Preface to the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, “the Bible is, from Genesis to Revelation, in its inner or spiritual meaning, a record of the experiences and the development of the human soul . . . it shows the growth and unfoldment of the latent spiritual power in humanity.” The more we understand these ancient writings, the more we begin to understand and see the path to experiencing our Divine Inheritance.

Penny Seay teaches Creative Process in the Bible

Penny Seay has been a Licensed Unity Teacher since 2011 and a member of UCOH since 2007. She has been a Prayer Chaplain since 2009 and coordinates the Prayer Chaplain team. She is also very involved with the UCOH labyrinthPenny Seay and volunteers in a number of other capacities. She received a doctoral degree in Special Education from the University of Texas, and has worked there since 1989. She will retire from UT in September of this year and begin seminary at Iliff School of Theology in Denver.

The Creative Process in the Bible is one of her favorite classes. It is a metaphysical exploration of the creation stories found in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles, with a focus on the seven steps of the Creative Process as interpreted by Unity Co-Founder Charles Fillmore. This understanding provides a unique strategy to approaching the creative process in the Bible as well as in one’s own life. Come have fun with this!
