Reopening

We are so excited to re-open our Sanctuary beginning on Sunday, November 15, 2020!  And while Unity Church of the Hills never closed, the time has come for us to gather together in person so that we can experience the Presence of God as a community.

We will re-open our Sanctuary to a limited number of people so that we may safely gather indoors for our Sunday Service together. In addition, the Service will continue to be streamed to the Pavilion just as it is streamed to Facebook, YouTube, and our website.

We will, of course, be practicing physical-distancing as well as following all the other safety guidelines. In order to maintain the physical distancing required for your safety, you will need to RSVP. Seating is limited in the Sanctuary as well as the Pavilion so RSVP as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: Reservations open at 1pm on Sunday, one week in advance, and closes at 7am on Sunday morning.

In-Person Gatherings

If you've been hungering to meet in person and see your beloved fellow UCOH congregants, you'll be happy to know that we are scheduling small groups of up to 10 people to meet outdoors on campus--on the Pavilion or patio, or in the labyrinth or meditation garden....

Please review the guidelines below before you RSVP

Attendance Guidelines

In the RSVP, you will be asked the number of people in your party and their names. Children who are willing and able to wear a mask and abide by the other guidelines are welcome to attend. We will not be offering childcare at this time.

If you registered in advance and find that you are unable to attend, please call the Church at 512-335-4449 or email communications@unityhills.org as soon as possible.

When the maximum number for the Sanctuary and Pavilion has been reached, RSVPs will close. There will be a waiting list. Should someone who has RSVPd not be able to attend, the first person on the list will be contacted.

Please understand that by registering, you will be attending the Services voluntarily and recognize the possibility of potential risks involved.

To protect everyone’s health and to provide safe physical distancing, we want you to be aware of a few things:

s

Proper cleaning and sanitation of the Church is an on-going process. Certain areas (Front entrance, Foyer, Bookstore, Hallway, Restrooms, Unity Oaks Lobby and Restrooms and Pavilion) will be cleaned before and after the Service. All other areas will be closed off.

q

If you are feeling ill, please stay home. If you are in a high-risk group, we encourage you to continue watching the livestream from your home. (Yes, livestreaming will continue.) If you are uncomfortable attending or more comfortable watching from your home, you are encouraged to take advantage of our continued livestreaming.

R

When you arrive on the property, signage and a parking usher will direct you to parking. Parking for the Pavilion will be to the left. Once this area is full, parking in the back behind the Pavilion will open.

Entry to the Sanctuary is through the Main Entrance. Entry to the Pavilion will be along the walkway between the two buildings. A registration table for check-ins will be setup at the entry point.

An RSVP is required for both Sanctuary and Pavilion seating. We will limit the number of people attending because there is limited seating. We will continue to maintain the 6-foot physical spacing.

We will require an RSVP check-in before you enter either area. The check-in is necessary to track attendance for contact tracing purposes in the event an attendee tests positive for COVID-19.

Please maintain safe distancing (6 feet) as you wait to check in and in all areas of the Church.

Z

Check-in will open at 11am. Please arrive early to accommodate the time needed for check-in and seating.

Volunteers will have received extensive training and we ask that you honor any requests made by them. Their first concern is the safety of your health and others.

t

You will be asked to sanitize your hands. In addition, there are a few self-assessment screening questions posted prior to check-in you will need to answer.

b

Please be aware of and read the various signage placed at strategic locations throughout the Church grounds.

An usher will show you available seats.  Families, couples and those already within a social/physical unit may sit together.

Each person attending the Service is required to wear a mask as you approach the check-in area. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. When indoors, masks are required at all times. When outdoors on the Pavilion, please keep your mask on whenever you are moving about. However, while you are seated on the Pavilion, you may remove your mask.

Restroom availability will be limited to two people at a time in each restroom.

p

Users of the Unity Oaks Ladies restroom need to avoid using stalls and sinks that are labelled for Wee Wisdom use only. Please check with a volunteer if you have questions.

We are practicing touchless greetings. Don’t put others in an awkward position by asking for physical contact. Namaste/bows, air hugs and jazz hands are encouraged.

Our nursery and Youth Education will not be open. We will not be offering childcare at this time. Please keep your children with you, or supervise them on our playground.

There will be no printed bulletins, paper forms or handouts of any kind. Everything will be handled via digital media.

Congregational singing is discouraged as there has been some evidence that singing and talking loudly can possibly spread the virus whether an individual is showing symptoms of the virus or not.

Online giving is encouraged. However, baskets will be placed in the Sanctuary and Pavilion for in-person giving.

Water fountains will not be available for use. You are asked to bring your own water bottle.

The Bookstore will be open after the Service. Two customers at a time will be allowed in the bookstore. Congregants are encouraged to shop in advance and place their orders ahead of time. Pre-ordered items will be made available on a shelf outside the bookstore, labeled with your name.

For now, seating will only be available for the 11:25am Service.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as necessary.

1

There will not be any hospitality or indoor fellowship time offered at this time.  Any after-Service fellowship will be in the Pavilion.  Congregants will also have the option of fellowshipping in the parking lot.

}

We encourage people to arrive early to allow extra time for checking in, to be seated, and to go to the restroom if needed.

PLEASE NOTE: Reservations open at 1pm on Sunday, one week in advance, and close at 7am on Sunday.
