Youth Education News

Youth & Family Volunteers: Thank you to everyone who responded to the call for Youth Education volunteers! We have filled almost all openings. We are still looking for an angel to help out in the 11:25 nursery and the 11:25 first and second grade class. Please talk to Linda Hancock in Room 140.

Real-Time Parenting Meet-up: The topic focus for the first two weeks of November is “Handling Disappointment.” What does it look like to raise our children with the spiritual truths of the Unity movement and A Course in Miracles, paired with the time-proven wisdom of Love and Logic, using the 3 simple steps of the Language of Listening?
Join Sandy Blackard, award winning parenting author of Say What You See, and Jennifer Feiereisel, student and teacher of A Course in Miracles, for an inspired and solution-oriented discussion on how to consciously raise your children to be confident, happy and self-motivated.
Love offering. Complimentary childcare is available in Room 135.
Sunday, November 8, at 10:40-11:20 a.m. in Room 131

Y.O.U. TECH-STOP: Our Youth of Unity teens will be available following the 9:25 and 11:25 Services to help congregants bookmark and navigate around in the new “TWA” (this week’s announcements) site, which will soon replace the green and yellow sheets in our bulletins. The Y.O.U. will be out front, outside the front entrance after the 9:25 and 11:25 Services on Sunday. There will be two sets of stations–iPhones to the right and Androids to the left.

Christmas Wreaths: Our Youth of Unity will be selling hand-made Christmas wreaths made out of re-purposed plastic water bottles. This beautiful “green art” will be available in two sizes–the large wreaths are designed to hang on a door or wall and the small wreaths are for table tops. The small wreaths could be used as part of an Advent display. There will be two color patterns available–red & green or purple & gold–in both sizes. The small wreaths are $20 and the large ones are $25. All proceeds will benefit our Youth of Unity. Your loving investment in our teens means you will be able to enjoy these wreaths for many years! Thank you for your support of our teens!
Foyer, Sundays, November 22 and 29, after the Services

Family Celebration: Our last Family Celebration will be held Thanksgiving weekend in Unity Oaks. Rick Busby will be our featured speaker and we’ll be learning about “The Invisible Power.” Communion will be served at the end of the Services. Our exciting new plans for 5th Sundays in 2016 will be unveiled during the Services. Ages four and up are invited to join us with their families for these kid-friendly services. The nursery and toddler rooms will be open for younger children. Please join us as we say goodbye to the old and hello to the new!
